From Treble Clef to Bass Clef approaches the student as a maturing musician. Beginning with 5 notes in the mid-range of the instrument, the book progresses by slowly adding notes, and at the same time reviews rhythms, articulations, and key signatures. "Exercises" are held to a minimum and the emphasis is on playing musical pieces while the reading skills are developed. In addition, the musical pieces introduce both the standard Italian terms and some not-too-familiar French and German terms. A pronunciation glossary is provided at the back of the book. Some advanced studies utilize the 4th valve. A nice way to get a 3 valve baritone player thinking about buying his own 4 valve euphonium.
